Everything for working with a BenchPod and checking your boards. Pick your system on any tab and the whole page follows.

BenchPod Desktop

v0.1.0

An AI agent that tests and debugs your board, with the model you choose. Free and open source.

brew trust embeddedci-com/tap
brew install --cask embeddedci-com/tap/benchpod-desktop

Not code-signed yet. Homebrew handles that for you; after downloading the .dmg, run xattr -cr "/Applications/<app>.app" once.

BenchPod CLI

v0.8.4

Sets up, updates and drives a pod from the terminal.

brew trust embeddedci-com/tap
brew install --cask embeddedci-com/tap/benchpod
benchpod --version

The binary isn't Apple-notarized, so the cask strips the quarantine flag on install. It also installs dfu-util, which flash-self needs.

# or the plain binary (the releases/latest/download URL is always the newest release)
curl -fsSL -o benchpod.tar.gz \
  https://github.com/embeddedci-com/benchpod-cli/releases/latest/download/benchpod_Darwin_arm64.tar.gz
tar -xzf benchpod.tar.gz benchpod
sudo mv benchpod /usr/local/bin/

On an Intel Mac use benchpod_Darwin_x86_64.tar.gz. If you download the archive with a browser instead, clear the quarantine flag once with xattr -d com.apple.quarantine ./benchpod.

BenchPod firmware

v3.9.4

For the pod itself. The easiest update is the Update firmware button in the pod's page; the CLI fetches the newest one too.

benchpod flash-self --network # pod on USB-C, over its USB network adapter

Python SDK and pytest plugin

Write hardware tests against a pod, and run them in CI. On PyPI as embeddedci; embeddedci-openhtf adds an OpenHTF plug.

python3 -m pip install "embeddedci[pytest]"

MCP server and plugins

v1.0.14

Lets Claude and Codex drive your pod. Needs uv.

brew install uv
# or: curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh
claude plugin marketplace add embeddedci-com/benchpod-mcp
claude plugin install benchpod@benchpod-mcp
codex plugin marketplace add embeddedci-com/benchpod-mcp

EMI Analyzer

v0.4.0

EMI and EMC layout checks on your own computer, for KiCad and Gerber boards. Needs Docker.

brew trust embeddedci-com/tap
brew install --cask embeddedci-com/tap/emi-analyzer

Not code-signed yet. Homebrew handles that for you; after downloading the .dmg, run xattr -cr "/Applications/<app>.app" once.

PCB Trace Length Analyzer

Length matching for DDR, USB, PCIe and Ethernet, as a KiCad plugin and a CI check.

BenchPod simulator

A simulated pod and board, to develop and test without hardware. Needs Go. Open source.

go install github.com/embeddedci-com/benchpod-sim/cmd/benchsim@latest
benchsim -addr 127.0.0.1:18080
